Our 2024 Annual Fund
Msona
Arts Group
This summer, we collaborated with the talented performers of Msona Arts Group, a collective in Tanzania that spans various disciplines.
Together, we developed a theater piece exploring the question, “What is our purpose as artists?”—a theme you might recognize from our @matters podcast.
The Need
As we worked on this piece, the artists shared a challenge they face. They mentioned several performance venues just a 1-2 hour drive away, eager to host them for paid performances—opportunities that could help them gain recognition and make their art a sustainable source of income.
The catch: most people in the village don’t own cars and rely on motorcycles or walking to get around. With 20-30 artists to transport, reaching these venues becomes nearly impossible.
our Plan
Together, we created a plan: a Transportation Fund. This fund—supported by generous donors in the U.S. (that’s you!)—will allow them to hire buses for performance opportunities. As they secure more gigs, the income generated will eventually sustain the transportation fund, paid for by the group itself.
But we need your help to get there.
Donation Options
To Those For Whom
Giving Is Hard
Imagine landing an audition but being unable to attend, or booking a gig or new job only to turn it down because you had no transportation…
Donate the cost of your bus fare or a tank of gas to support this fund.
Every amount helps. We ask our community to give what they can and share this piece of their life with someone who can’t afford the same freedoms.
To Those For Whom
Giving Is Easy
Give as generously as you can. Your gift of $100, $1,000, $10,000, or any amount will help a community of artists and humans get closer to achieving their dreams.
How can you help bridge the gap between now and a thriving, economically and culturally vibrant Msona?
No matter where you fall…
